I think when the time comes for me to come out almost everyone is going to be totally shocked.  I'm curious.  For those of you that have come out to your friends and family were they shocked, just mildly surprised or was it one of those "I always knew it" responses?
For the most part, the reactions were shocked. Yet in spite of that shock, the reactions were nonetheless supportive.

The only person who wasn't shocked was my (then) wife. Apparently, back in high school when we were dating, I mentioned to her the story of when I was very young and thought  "Oh, well, I was born a boy I'll just have to be a boy." I'd forgotten that I had ever mentioned that to her. So, she wasn't surprised when I went from genderqueer/crossdresser to MTF.

i came out to my Mom a few days ago and today she presented me a two page psych analysis of all my conflicts in life as a lead up to an appeal to keep things on the down low and not tell anyone else

but I keep feeling like when you start coming out you really can't stop it until you are all the way out

I almost thought my Mom would talk me back into the closet

I can't take it in there
