Hi, I'm Scarlett! I'm new to the trans world, and am still kind of questioning. Regardless of my gender, I love kittens and heavy metal. I hope that my possible transsexuality doesn't interfere with my future in music. I've had feminine tendencies since age 4, but only recently started seriously considering becoming the girl I am inside. I've always had more female friends, and identified better with girls. I feel like an outcast among other guys my age, but when I'm with girls, being my true Girly self (rarely) everything feels so right. Coming out to my parents is my biggest fear, because they are very hypocritical, and judgemental. I haven't told anyone I k ow personally yet, but I will very soon. I hate looking in the mirror, because I look very masculine and doubt I could ever pass. I've never cross dressed, or wore makeup because I have no access to either. I hope to make more sense of my feelings on this website, and meet people who have. Wen through what im going through.

Welcome hun, I hope you're feeling at home a bit allready.
You want to meet persons who have been where you are now.
I've been there sweetie, 30 years ago and i never thought that i could become very feminine.

But, as always, our thoughts are worse than reality.
I'm not only feminine, I was a bombshell, and even at older age, I'm still very attractive special to men.

Too bad for them I only make love with women, and I'm not complaining about attention.
So, I only want to say that, how hopeless things sometimes looks, it can be better than it looks in the first place.
Life of a girl with a transpast isn't always easy but worth to be lived, it's an interesting life.
Hey...who wants the easy way anyway?

I hope to read more from you, about your progress, fears, hopes, just to know you a little better.

I too like kittens an heavy metal lol but yes coming out to your parents will be the hardest thing you will ever do but trust me it is worth it my parents sound like yours

How did they react when you told them? Also do you have any advice on coming out to friends?

My dad took it well but my mom is still in denial my grandfather is the only one i haven't told yet due to his health

An as far as friends an other family i cam out to the via facebook i lost many "friends" but i also found out who my real friends were an are hope this helps =)

My parents would be the opposite. My mom might be cool with it but my dad would disown me :/ Since I'm still questioning, I'm going to only tell a few close female friends (my ex, her sister, and another friend) sometime within the next week

My girlfriend was the first person other than my grandmother to know my girlfriend helped me tell my parents so that may be a good idea to just come out to then also when the time comes if you do come out to your parents find a local chapter of PLFLAG they can help a lot also!!

Another bit of a advice find a local support group an if you can afford a therapist began seeing one both the support group an the therapist will help you a lot on figuring out if you wont to go full time or not

Well, I've Been texting these friends for the past few hours. At first they didn't believe me until I opened up and told them my deepest feelings. We came down to the fact that my transsexuality may actually be caused by sexual frustration. The only time in the past few years that I can remember not wanting to be a girl was when my ex and I were dating (that has so far been my only relationship). I've decided that I will know for sure if I am really trans based on my feelings during my next relationship (if I have one, as I've always had bad luck in this area )

Hey everyone!
Just a quick update, I have really been talking to my ex alot lately about gender and sexuality, and she told me something I never expected. She (as she still prefers) is ftm transsexual, and has actually already begun taking hormones. I'm the first person not in her family that she told, but she said that she is very excited for the near future, and hopes that she'll do good transitioning young. I really wasn't expecting it but I'm really happy for her.
