(Ok, maybe that sounds a bit conceited of me, but I'm happy for myself.)  On April 24th, I will have sucessfully completed my one year RLT requirement, and my therapist has said that when I need it, she'll write me my letter approving me for surgery.  I'm verry happy about this.  (I still have a lot of saving to do before I can afford SRS, though...but it gives me something to work towards.)

Thank you to everyone who posted here!  I had a small-get together with friends that night, and it really made me feel special.  I'm hoping that I can save up enough so that I can afford my SRS sometime next year (most likely in Thailand...I have heard good things about Dr. chettawutt, so I am considering him).

Mazeltov! I am coming up on three years and will be having SRS 3 years and 11 days after "going FT."

Chettawut's rep is advancing into the top tier, hope you can book him before he raises his prices. I booked with Kunaporn in Phuket. (I went with him since I got a real close up inspection of his work! :))

Nothing is set in stone yet...and I am not scheduling ANYTHING until I have enough money to cover my expenses...I'm not going to bankrupt myself on this.

Not unless they rollback the bankruptcy laws! :)

Seriously though, in some cases, bankruptcy or insolvency might just be a viable option.

However, in your case, Debbie, time is on your side, I believe SRS prices will come down as the procedure is becoming more common and sometime in the future (though who knows when) it will be covered under health insurance.
