Was told that the roller coaster effect gets a little less after a while as your body gets use to the changes and tries to level things out.  If this is true it makes injections even more desireable.

After reading all these comments I'm definately asking to do self injections while I'm in michigan, and if possible for the entire time I'm using injectables.   After the blood draws this morning I think I can handle the needle.

And Tristan, I knew there is some moodiness, but how bad?

after almost 5 months on shots the "spiking" is non existent and I can't even tell when I'm running low, I just have to look at my calendar. At first I was just moody, but after a month or two  your body gets the memo, so to speak.

UC, I can't say about cremes, but probably. I know gels, at least, are. I've read quite a few experiences about Americans on it, and uhm. My gel is made in the US, so.

Because people are using gels or creams, or that they are US made doesn't make them legal to be prescribed.

I'm getting very depressed about not being able to get injections. People on this forum just rub it in because they can get it if they want it. I hate the country I live in, nothing is available in the U.K.  Try and understand that not everyone has the privilege of trying injectable Hormones.

I have tried both injections and the patches, and I prefer the patches,  I use a patch and low dose of the oral.  and im a few months into being on full doses of both,   endo's have many ways of going about hrt.  Because I was a smoker. my endo put me on the patches to give me the estrogen, and put me on the oral to boost the estrogen but to also get the bi product   sex hormone binding globulents. (totally butchered the spelling XD)       only reason I like the patches also is its easy to remenber when its time to change them,  I forgot when it was time to inject myself alot.

No one's rubbing it in, because honestly we don't think that you're going to be offended by OUR good results on hormones. Why are you so upset??

And the UK is far from being a "bad" country for tg people. Try saudi arabia.

I know there are many problems with socialized medicine.  And not having access to certain medications is one of those problems.

You may have discussed this before, but do you actively petition your representatives in the Parliament to change the system?  Or has the NHS service just become so bureaucratic, it can no longer be moved?

However, I believe, you can get Androcur which kicks T ass compared to spiro

Sorry, it wasn't really clear. At least two cases I'm talking about testify the legality of them. Not with proof, but with people from the US saying that their endo prescribed a gel/cream, and I have no reason to doubt them, nor would they have any reason to lie about it.

I don't want to offend you, but I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding here. It's you who keeps repeating in many threads, several times per thread, how annoyed you are at not being able to get injectables. We don't rub it in... We're not even talking to you, except in an attempt to help. If anything, you're rubbing it in for yourself by repeatedly complaining about a problem you can't seem to have any way of doing anything about.

I will check with my primary care physician then.

I'm getting very depressed about not being able to get injections.

I've read your posts before explaining about your problems with estradiol plus the lack of results. I highly doubt if you see little to no results and have reaction problems with orals and patches that injecting it would somehow be a totally different situation. The medication is no different and injecting or transdermal ends up with the same end result, the medication is in your blood stream.

I had serious reactions to estradiol and if I recall correctly you replied to my posts about this saying you had bad headaches etc from it as well.  I ended up using estriol instead of estradiol, have no bad reactions and am getting amazing results after 6 months of being on it. It's not commonly used for trans HRT but maybe this would work for you and I do believe it's widely available in Europe. Might be something to discuss with your doctor if years of these other meds have done nothing.
