That's how Stephanie Lowther has described her lifelong battle with her gender identity.
Despite being born Steve Billon, and going on to have four children as well as getting married, Steph always dreamed of being a woman.
But she never fully understood her feelings until repressed memories were triggered after she suffered concussion while working as a postman in 1998.
