So, I got my new driver's license.  Yup.  It has the "F" I always wanted on it.  Cept, I didn't change my gender marker yet.  So, I have to get it changed to an "M" so it matches my name and photo so I can change it back to an "F" in a year or two!?!

I checked "M" when I filled out my drivers license paper work because I had to.  I remember cause that always bothers me.

When they sent me my drivers license (took em' a month) it says "F" under "Sex".  Tween my name and picture, having that beautiful "F" there would create more problems than solve at this moment in time.

I'd keep it, but, I like beer and happily at 34 I still get carded a lot.

I would definitely keep it.  It is an error on the part of DMV.  You did nothing wrong.

Well, no, you don't. After all, you didn't notice it was wrong. Who looks at that stuff? Honest, you would have fixed it if you'd known, but you trusted the state to get it right.

As far as DMV and the Great God of the Electrons in their back office you are quite likely forever an F, legally or otherwise.

And.... really, no one looks at that stuff as long as the picture loks a little somthing like you. Do you really want to spend half a day at the DMV straightening that out. And likel being charged for the privledge?

BTW - another DMV foulup story. One time my wife got her DL renewed. First time post 9-11, lots of extra paperwork. After she gets home she takes a second look at it as she puts it into the right home in her wallet. "Issue Date: Sept 27, 2003" "Epiration Date: Sept 27, 2003"  WTF! So she goes back, with another pile of paperwork, half a day, and $25.00 poorer it got fixed. Their response to this obvious typo. "See the sign? Check ALL documents before leaving window"

Happens more often than you think

The DMV changed mine to "F". I never did switch it back.

Three other girls I know had the same thing happen to em as well.
