I don't know if you are talking about who I think you are, but I saw a thing on TV about that.  The man's wife had been on female hormones for 10 years so they were operating under the assumption that they were sterile and along came baby.

It's quite possible.  Can't remember a name to save my life, though.

Really though, even if we assume these are rare cases, does anybody really want to take that chance?  I know i don't.  Heck, just my luck, all my pre-HRT carelessness will finally cash in and I'll end up pregnant on T --I think I'll keep the diaphragm and condoms, thanks.  Better safe than maxing out my credit line for an abortion.

You do realize most birth control pills and shots are hormonal.  Specifically female hormones, in high doses.  That's not really something a lot of trans dudes want to subject themselves to.

And I don't know why some-one who's trans male would want to give themselves a mega-dose of female, and not to mention feminising hormones.

Exactly.

Thank you for your ideas, I think I'll just stay at condoms until I get my surgery done in the near future, I hope.

I am aware this is an old post, but I would like to make others aware that while the birth control PILL has plenty of feminizing effects, the birth control shot does not. In individuals who are not already overweight, the progesterone-only shot will cause the body to stop releasing estrogen by inactivating the ovaries for a temporary amount of time (3-4 months).

Why would a transman want to take it? Well if he is not already on testosterone, taking Depo Provera will actually masculinize him more than his body's natural hormones. It will cease any bleeding as well as often causing healthy weight and lean guys to LOSE weight, as well as removing the mood-swing cycle.

Not only that, but it is a better birth control than the pill. If you take the pill, you can get sick, vomit, have diarrhea, or take antibiotics and be at risk for pregnancy because your body won't break down the pill and absorb the hormones. With the shot, that absolutely cannot happen!
Was falsely diagnosed as a female-to-male transsexual.
I'm just a cisgender female picking up the pieces.
