I think you sound pretty good, especially for pre-T, one think I learned about (in my case I'm going the other way but ...) is to emphasise sentences and words by starting them with slightly higher volume.

Ahhh I see what you mean. I'll try and see how I sound like when I speak louder.

Curious how I sound. No vocal coach or anything, just me. Thanks. Please be honest by the way <.<;' Help is appreciated.

Your mannerisms certainly sound female to me!!
Your pitch is great as well, although you seem to be having issues with voice strength and loudness.
Because it's quite high, it might be worth lowering it a few.pitches just to see if you can get the strength and volume that's in a normal speaking voice.

But I'm sure that will come with practice anyway.

I've decided that today is the day I start working on my voice. So I've spent a bit reading and watching youtube videos, and this is my progress after about an hour (reading the blurb from the back of a book):

Before: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1tHxFmu5AyF

After 1: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1naDhU9ygi9
After 2: http://vocaroo.com/i/s024h2Qb46cp
After 3: http://vocaroo.com/i/s0oZ8wW0TjQK

I'm under absolutely no illusions about how well it sounds, or how female it sounds, but it's an hour's work on my first try. So I'm happy enough. I think. Although my throat feels pretty tired now, so probably going to stop for now. Don't want to strain it too much and like break it or something, I dunno.

Any criticism or suggestions, or any feedback at all, really, would be most welcome.

a quick feedback: read slower. about the speed as in the before reading. I could barely understand a word in the other ones ;)

Haha, thanks. Talking fast is an Irish thing. I was speaking deliberately slowly in all of them!

Hi I was just hoping to get some input on my voice ;) I dont practice it much but I have on and off, Ive just been going out a lot and doing the best I can... I do OK with it in person I guess, not so great on the phone though... I KNOW it could be better so any honest input would be great, thanks :)

Well I have been practicing a little more but Im not sure its getting any better than a few weeks ago :'(

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1OzbGAPGIXo

I have quit smoking for two weeks now... Also lowered my spiro from a pretty high dose and went with higher E... Hoping that and more practice will help me... Unfortunately there is nobody around here that does TS voice therapy so Im all on my own there...

Im hoping too stay off the cigs for good and do some voice feminization surgery over the winter....

I know it aint great but any help or critique here would be welcome

Ok, so if I ever to to Ireland for vacation, I better take a recorder with an option to replay a recording in slow with me - or I will be lost. I know this only from Irish folk songs - they are incredibly fast.

Now - I tried something new now. Everybody keeps telling me that I am stressing and forcing myself too much and I should relax my voice. So I did that. The pitch is at the low end of the male speaking range as a result, but since so many people claim it is not about pitch, I treid to no focus at all on that. I dunno - I personally think it is androgynous at best: http://vocaroo.com/i/s17j0nAaNmEu - If I allow me some more control and tension and less relaxation, it comes out http://vocaroo.com/i/s16OxcZxfQP3

Sounds male for sure. Good job! ;D

Yes, Ryan, I think this works :) - You are using a lot of vocal fry though (forcing the voice deeper), if I get that right - it makes the voice sound deeper overall but I dont think you need this too much , your voice is low in any case.

Here is me again - the voice therapy allowed me to relax and use more of a spectrum of pitches, so thats cool. Still - the one is the more relaxed everyday voice I have now, rather deep, the other is an attempt to increase pitch, but it costs me considerable effort, so I will probably not use this - at least not without a voice enhancing surgery.

Ooh, here's a fun thread :)

I'm pre-t, but I'm wondering how y'll hear my voice? I don't know what to make of it really. I'm also noticing I sound different depending on whether I speak English or my mother tongue (German) - I'm wondering if you notice that as well?

I'm reading a poem/a text by Kafka, so the speech "pattern" isn't natural. But seeing that I'm not a native speaker of English, I'm not sure if I'd even get what the different is...

Oh - Die Verwandlung - hehe - I think the voice sounds maybe a bit like a boys voice but sadly I would say for a grown up man it would be rather unusual - but hey - T will do the job for you ;)

I didn't know that this topic was here, except for a few new posts today that brought it back on the new posts list.
I've felt kind of ill today, so its been really nice to rest and listen to everyone's voices. I went through all 50 pages too.
You all are just amazing, and all have wonderful voices.!

Ha, Anja - thanks. Yeah, I know my voice doesn't pass as that of a grown-up guy. But it's definitely not the aspect of myself I'm most dysphoric about ;). Hopefully t is in my future!

I am sure it is - adrian. If you want it. I heard a clip of someone this week who had T - he did weekly recordings and cut them together. it was amazing to see the change. In the end he dropped down to my relaxed pitch even, which is really more at the low end or the male range. crazy what T can do. So sad that we cold not change - for me there is only using effort as I did in the reordings i just posted , or surgery.

Omg! Everyone is doing so well! I am going to go through all 50 pages soon! I love hearing people's progress!

And here's my little rambling recording of my voice. Forgive me. lol! http://vocaroo.com/i/s1s8bw4Fuyw4

Errr.. my voice has always felt as the most awkward thing. To use and to show to others x___x. But here goes anyway :P.

Please let me know if it is any good :P. I try not to pitch it that much so that it feels more natural. But well! What do I know, I think everyone still recognizes their old voice in their feminine voice x_x.

Here goes D:

Oh and I forgot to pronounce the K with ohke. Nevermind that please :P.
:D Want to see me ramble, talk about experiences or explaining about gender dysphoria? :D
