Seras, I think you'd do very well here in the US just due to your accent! I think it sounds fine. Try dropping it a half pitch and see if it isn't more comfortable for you. I don't think that you'd sound less feminine. It might be easier. Who knows. In any case, I'm interested to find out if you are going to continue voice therapy or not.

That's pretty much where I'm at when I'm at ease. I can sound like a totally different person if I concentrate, but I can't  hold it. I would say that if you get by in public, you're doing great. I can't see why you wouldn't. I did notice a couple times when you went down. Listen for those and try to get rid of them. I really like your inflections on the upside. They sound very natural.

Thanks cindi for your input! i did notice i slightly dropped a few times slightly, and can hear some deeper resonance that returns to my tone. I'm pretty happy with my results after 3 months, i will just keep at it. I'm not planning on being full-time for atleast 6 months to a year, but i plan on slowing incorporating a female voice over time, so that its seamless with my transition.

I'm surprised at how many people say that they can't go back to their old voice. I'm bedazzled. Truly. I can flip back and forth in a flash. Perhaps I could become a book reader. That might be something interesting and new. I think I could find at least five pitches. The foreign accents would be hard though. Maybe I could go to a voice therapist to learn Brit.

It's been a while since I have been on this thread myself but I thought since I am not about to hit 5 months on T to ask what everyone here thinks of my voice?

Here is the recording, I will admit, my voice has been all over the place and a bit hard to have control of, so be gentle :P

Man, not only is your voice in the right range, but I love your singing range. NO WAY would I ever consider this made by anyone but a male. I am truly envious that you can sing. I have sung all my life. I performed professionally in a rock band before my transition and we did four part harmonies all the time. I so miss that. But I can no longer do leads. I have to do a soft tenor third down from the primary vocalist to even get by. And it's not worth the potential read.

Fantastic!

Thank you Kate and Cindi :)

I'm glad to hear you like my singing range Cindi, I am rather happy with where the voice is going. Before T and before I tried to lower my range I was actually a soprano, and back in the day when I was singing in choirs I was a high soprano. So this has been a rather interesting journey to take with singing as well.
Again, thank you :D I'm really glad to hear that you wouldn't consider the voice as anything but a male, that makes me over the moon happy to hear.

I'm currently practicing at getting my voice deeper pre-T but it's difficult :x

My voice is most notably feminine unfortunately. Like, you guys have seen Mulan, right? You know when she tries to sound like a guy? Yeah that's me. It's laughably horribad. I've listened to others and it's like...wow. Can't even tell. I hope I can reach that one day

In which I monologue and have no idea what I'm doing. I've only been doing this for a week and don't really plan to present female in public for a little while, so just some context/disclaimers.

Let me know what you all think! I was really nervous about uploading this!! I haven't had any sort of training... I feel like I have some work to do, but for right now I'm decently happy with it.

ashly i think you did great, especially for no training! i think what is particularly impressive is the stamina for which you can keep up your voice, that's a great thing to be able to do so early on. I think, and I'm not really sure how your voice sounded before, but you might want to get away from talking in voice that high, and try to put more behind it and i think with time itll get higher, immediately i was reminded of Nico who has a super rich voice. Shes a terrible person but shes a great singer and her speaking voice is like mesmerizing.

i know my speaking voice doesn't pass because I dont know where to start, but I would hope that I have at least a fairly adrogynous singing voice. im an amab trans girl btw

Awesome sauce! Your voice sounds awesome, and really natural sounding. You have a dynamic range of sounds. I would say 100% pass :)

I definitely hear a lot of progress. In the first one your voice was fairly androgynous. The second it seemed like you were trying really hard to just soften the sounds which made the "power" of your voice decrease. In the third you can hear the "power" a little more. I think that if you focus more on raising the pitch slightly you will be in awesome shape. Great work!!

Aww, you're sweet! Yeah I'm a fan of Dr who (thus the bad wolf reference). Ironically I started using the handle before I even find out what bad wolf was. And when i found out, it was awesome! The fact that it had a female AI was just a huge bonus

I've been trying my voice on and off for over a year, usually giving up out of shyness (the walls are really thin next to both my neighbours) and embarassement (I'm really self-critical so I end up cringing a lot and shutting down too early).

Anyway, the last couple of weeks I've managed to overcome these two things somewhat and practice far more consistently.

How bad is my voice? Honest criticism is welcome.
