Seattle Pride organization disbanding, filing for bankruptcy

Organizers of the Seattle Pride parade and festival said they are disbanding and filing for bankruptcy.

Seattle Out and Proud, the volunteer group that puts on the celebration for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, owes the city $102,000 for the 2006 event at Seattle Center.

And Clarksville Pride canceled their pride event this year due a debt of only $5,000. I gotta tell them things really aren't that bad.... they could be Seattle Pride ;P

I'm actually 1 of the 4 people responsible for raising the money for our city's pride event.  We just raise the money ahead of time throughout the year by holding fundraising events and gauge the size of the pride on what we can realistically afford.
