I know this has been talked about before, but I'm just wondering, is it possible to be on T and not have a Hysto? Will you eventually run into problems if you don't get one? I'm gonna wait it out as long as possible. If I have pain then that will force me to see a gyno which is why I don't want to get a hysto. I'm more afraid of someone looking at me down their than getting surgery.

My doctor told me as long as I don't have a period I don't have to worry about getting a hysto. Is this true?

I think it's mostly unknown what will happen because there's not be that many medical studies done on people who are on T and have ovaries.  Maybe someone else will know more about it than me, but I think it is advised after you've been on T x-amount of years, but it varies between doctor how long after being on T they say you might have issues.

It's worth remembering that there's not always pain when something goes wrong, or if there is pain then it's too late to be treated effectively, i.e. cancer.

From what I heard they recomend to get it done after max 5 years.

Thanks. If I ever get my Top surgery I might consider getting off T and see how that works out. Although, if I'm working as male and revert back to looking female, that won't work. I'm kinda torn on what to do. I got about 9 years to make up my mind. It's recommended to get a hysto within 10 years, right?

@Natkat: I heard within 5-10 years...? If it's 5 years, I only got a few more years to make up my mind on what to do and My insurance won't cover trans surgeries.  Top surgery comes first no matter what. And right now it doesn't look like I'm getting my top surgery within the next few years, so a miracle need to happen so I can get my top surgery. And for a hysto...  I can't afford it so something will have to go wrong in order for insurance to cover it, I'm assuming.
