A career coup came when '80s chart queen Lauper invited them to join her on the inaugural "True Colours" tour, a 15-city roadshow that begins in June and features heavyweights Debbie Harry, Erasure, the Dresden Dolls and Rufus Wainwright. The tour makes its lone Canadian stop in Toronto on June 19.

Silveira says the tour - a fundraiser for groups that help the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community - will offer the band an unprecedented platform, noting that a recent show in Winnipeg drew a scant 30 people.

Shows in larger cities like Toronto and New York bring out considerably larger crowds, and a more diverse audience than most would think, he says.
