I have explained myself to my imediate supervisor at work but now I need to write a letter to my section manager.
I did see somewhere letters that had been written by others that maybe I could use but alter slightly to meet my requirements.

Can anyone help me locate such letters.
One of the members on here has a link to a site that has a letter fully explaining about Transsexulism.

Any help would be much appriciated.

The End of the Beginning shows what I used for my coworkers, though it may not be enough for a supervisor.

When I came out to management, I included my "Carry Letter" from my therapist, as well as listing contact information for my therapist, medical doctor and laser doctor. I also bundled in a complete copy of The Standards Of Care, and a copy of the book "True Selves."

Hello Kate.

I remember it was you that had a link that I read, though I got you confused with another member.
I still have my hard drive from my last laptop which has your link on it.

Thankyou for you advice I will include all those papers and the book though not my personal copy. :-*

lolli,

The is a good article in the WIKI that covers this subject: https://www.susans.org/wiki/A_Guide_to_Coming_Out_at_the_Workplace

The article contains links to example letters that you can read and/or use to form your own.  I'm using the one in the WIKI, revised for my circumstances, when I come out at work.

I hope this gets you closer to what you need.  Good Luck!!

hugs & smiles

When I went into the office and explained to Roy that we needed a chat in quiet, and his reply being its quiet now, it kinda put me on the spot.
So I summoned up the courage and let it pour out.
Anyway since then Roy has said to me that Mr Stowman needs to be told and I replied that I would write a letter to him explaining myself in full.

Thats not a problem for me as a letter and a possible interview with Brian or as we put it, Tea and biscuits in he who's name must not be said's office is only a one to one.
But to explain myself to all the other truckers is quite something else !!
Some of them suspect me of being gay and I leave them thinking that but Ben who's collection round I took over and is my relief driver I explained everthing to him and he didnt care one little bit.
Roy and Ben saw it that so long as I can still do my job then there is no issue.
My concern is when on the female drug you lose upper body strength will I be able to lift the collection pipe !!!
Its very big and heavy and has cost me quite a few nails.

Thanks Helen, Yes just what I need.

I have another appointment with my thierapist this friday at which point I want some information and letters from him.

Should these letters to ones employer be given whilst on hormones or before you start hormones ?

What is the Carry Letter?  I've never heard of that before.

What is the Carry Letter?  I've never heard of that before.

Sometimes called an ID Letter or Letter Of Passage...

It's meant to be used in tricky situations, such as being read as a male when using the women's room, etc. But I found it useful to very quickly establish credibility with my employers... to "break the ice" before discussing this all in depth.

Mine says:

The purpose of this letter is to verify that [name] is under my care in a male to female gender reassignment program involving gender counseling, estrogenic hormonal treatment, electrolysis, and sexual reassignment surgery.

[Name] should be accorded all the rights, privileges, and respect due a female.

If anyone reading this letter has any concerns pertaining to [name], please feel free to contact me at once.
