Being here for a few months now I've noticed there a lot of us looking for companionship.
How about a lonely hearts club area here on S.P.T.R?
Click on a little throbbing heart next to our avatar and it will take you to a cover page where you can see an introduction then e mail from there.
And it doesn't have to be just romance. Pen pals can be wonderful too.
I haven't used them but I hear that dating sites are rather like a meat market and many have been disappointed or even hurt.
Were very unique people in a very unique place.

Sounds like a nice idea - but am worried if it turns bad it may ruin what we all love about Susan's.
Sometimes when life is a fight - we just have to fight back and say screw you - I want to live.

Sometimes we just need to believe.

Your heart is in the right place. We can all come here for companionship, and maybe even meet someone. But a dating area could  add an unwanted dynamic to the Forums. That is where TOS Rule #14 comes into play. In part: "The posting of personal ads, replies to/or proposals for dates....is not permitted. Sorry, hugs, Devlyn

Perhaps an anamous entry separate from our normal log on.
Ie just a number to log on with like 1000110 then the individuals could disclose their avatar name privately if they wish.
But then again there are probably dynamics to this that better minds then i have already considered.

Safety and privacy are the driving forces for the rule, I believe. Hugs, Devlyn

What makes you think that something like that here wouldn't become just what you dislike about the other meeting sites online?  As for penpals or whatever, it is already perfectly possible and happens often that people make lasting friendships on here and some have translated into rl, so nothing extra is needed for that.

I would also say that keeping one's lunch in its proper place is an added benefit.   :P
