I have finally been told that i will get transfer to see a hormone doctor, and i would like to do some more research on what kind of T is available and what kind of ways you can take them as in injections, gels etc, i want to know each name and each option on how you can take it.

I tried looking on google , but there seem to many and i get lost and cant follow. All i know so far is injection, creams/gel, tablets, i sometime have seen patches and implants but i haven't seen anyone on here who use them, i guess i have covers on the option on how you can take them?

Sorry if it has been mention on the forum somewhere but i had no luck.

In the UK there seems to be a pretty big shortage on Sustanon and Ethanate (Injectable), but people can get hold of Nebido (also injectable but some doctors don't like prescribing that for new patients because it stays in the body much longer and other reasons I can't remember.) You can get put on it though, there was a thread on this a month or so ago: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,124175.0.html

There are testosterone gels as well that are prescribed for people in the UK, I'm not sure if both Testim and Testogel are used for trans patients, I know they're both used for cis-men with low T levels by the NHS.

I've not seen anyone use tablets, patches or implants on here to be honest, I think most people stick with injections and some go with gel.  I'm sure someone else who's actually seeing a GIC will be able to fill you in a bit more as there isn't a GIC that deals with under 18's near me.

Actually, Sustanon has been discontinued and is no longer sold in the UK. This is the reason for the Ethanate shortage, as suddenly there was a surge in demand due to guys having to switch off of Sustanon. The UK guys I know also seem to have heard about doctors' reluctance to put guys on Nebido as their first experience with HRT.

Thanks for the replays and information, i have found a few more now which really helps, from what i seen online people in the uk seem to use nebido injected or testogel. Really intresting to see the utube videos on how much they have chagned from the T.

And i do know that oral T is one of the T that you need to stay away from.

Thank you for the link alex000000

Be prepared to have to educate your doctor about the shortage and how to use nebido/gel :P

If you're at charring cross there is a page on their website about the shortage which you can show your GP - I don't know if I'm allowed to post the actual link because of dosage information.

The manufacturer of Sustanon (MSD) does NOT list Sustanon as discontinued, only as experiencing shortages. I have heard rumours it should be back in supply by the end of this year... but there were similar rumours of it being back earlier in the year too which didn't happen.

Where did you hear that it was discontinued?

I was told by several pharmacys that it was marked in their systems as discontinued. The leader of my trans support group also contacted a few doctors for me who said the same thing.

I might well be wrong about that actually, as I don't live in the UK I don't have first hand experience, but I'm pretty sure some of the guys on a UK based FTM forum said it's been discontinued.
