I am not entirely sure where I am on the transgender spectrum...because after I came out to my parents I started feeling more female than male. Before I came out I thought I was bigender; now I'm not so sure...Maybe I was just hiding behind a false masculine side for years. I suspect so, because I had to "act" like a guy to fit in when I was in Jr. High. (even as far back as elementary)

I'm also not sure what name I would like (as a female); but I think I might go with Skye. I'm just using Keira (or Kira) as an online alias. So I might have to get my name changed on here lol. Whatever though, I'll think about "Skye" for awhile first.

Now I'm stuck in the position of trying to get a counselor and start dressing as female...although I'm still stressed out about the social aspect of transitioning...it's going to be sooo awkward knowing people as a guy and then presenting as a girl. Although it probably won't bother the girls I know at work -as much-; as I am already "one of them".

Anyway...I hope to find some info here -as well as helpful people- to further become who I was always supposed to be (externally).

Side Note- Maybe I'm a genderqueer transgender girl...probably.

On the Androgyne Talk forum, there is an interesting "sticky" (permanent) post called the "30-day Genderqueer Challenge."

You might find it fun to walk through it, even post some of your answers.

Hi Keira, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 8714 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

Hi Kiera,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

Sure, in the beginning there may be a bit of awkwardness, but you just need to remember, you've done the hard yards in acknowledging your true self. With the aid of your therapist you will have resoved many issues. So if someone has a problem with the new way you present, guess what? It's THEIR problem NOT yours. They need to get straightened out, no body else.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
