The other day I switched from 3ml syringes to 1ml syringes, which ended up being insulin ones. I was wondering if a 12.7mm needle will still be able to penetrate butt muscle?

*I hope asking this isn't against the rules.

That's about a half inch, right? I use a one inch but inject in my thigh. It may work if you are on the thin side. I would stick with the length and guage you were using before if at all possible. Worse case, you can get just get the needle tips themselves and switch out the needle from the syringe. That's what I do.

You could always ask your doc if you are not sure. Call the doctor's office and ask the nurses. Mine were awesome when I had a question about needles

Well, the problem with these 1ml insulin syringes is the needles can't be removed. Since the script has already been paid for, I don't know what to do 'cause I can't just get rid of them and I don't know if I can return them... I rather go back to my 3ml syringes now. This is all too complicated for me :p

Well if you didn't take them out of the package, they should return them. If you took them out then your stuck (ooh sorry for the pun).
