New girl to Susan's Place!  Saw my Dr today, pre HRT physical went very well!
He gave me my Spiro script so I guess I'm on my way... this is wonderful!   I have
realistic expectations.  Not expecting a miracle but ya never know - right?

Hello everyone from Rochester NY !

That's great! What is involved in a pre-HRT physical other than what would happen in a standard physical?

I haven't been to a doctor in years, so I'm going in for a complete physical - I'm in my low 40's.  I was thinking of asking for my testosterone level, is there anything else to ask to be checked?

Nothing different in the physical.  Dr wanted to make sure my entire body was ready that's all.  He wouldn't hand me a script until he checked me out first.  It was pretty thorough.  Thought we'd exchange numbers afterwards (LOL kidding)...

Just feels good to know I'm ready for MY journey... finally!

So have you been seeing a therapist first and got a letter, or did you just go to your doctor and ask for spiro for HRT?

I'm seeing a therapist, but Dr doesn't require a letter.  I could not wait 3 or 4 more months to be honest w ya.  So here we go......

I know the feeling! I suppose it doesn't hurt to try... I guess I need to tell the doc what my plans are and see what he says. Thanks for posting about your scrip, that helps me to move forward!

I want to encourage you to try to do one thing each day to keep you on track.  It might be buying a new panty, or read an article from a fashion magazine, or groom your brows. Maybe do something w your nails.. whatever it may be!  The idea is to stay in the game and be moving forward.  Don't wish your life away!   Besides doing a little thing everyday keeps you feeling good about yourself and girly too.  Have some fun.  Get on hormones no matter what it takes.  You'll be glad ya did!  Heck in a couple of years you'll look and feel more like the real you!
