I hope to have phalloplasty as soon as possible. I have to have the surgery before I turn 27 when i stop being covered by my parents insurance. My birthday is in late august but I'd really like to go off to college with a penis. It'd be preferable to have at least the first stage of a procedure right after I graduate so I can heal in time to go off to college. Now I'm not sure if that's possible since I am still a minor. So my first question is would it be possible for me to have bottom surgery?

Secondly, if that's not possible, do you think it would be feasible for me to take a year off before i go to college and be able to have the whole shebang with all the stages done within that year?

New here myself and just browsing the forum and noticed your Q hadnt been anwsered. I will try my best to anwser it.

Firstly i think you need to take a number of things into account and without sounding rude be realistic. There is a process you need to go through and as a lot of us know it a lengthy one!

Here (in the UK) you have to see a variety of people before you are even issued Hormones. You have stated how far through the 'process' you are so I am purely assuming you are at the beginning.

- GP
- GP referal to Gender Identity Clinic or equivalent specialist who will talk to you and over a period of time issue you with Testosterone.
- Chest Surgery (here its normally a couple of years AFTER taking T and 'living as a male' that they even consider your application for chest surgery)
- Hysterectomy
- Bottom Surgery (Phallo taking 4 stages. With a three month gap between each stage -not taking into account any complications)

Now I wish it was as short as it sounds on paper but unfortunately it really isnt. I am as frustrated as you because I am not a lot older than you but I wish I could just have everything complete and get on with my life.

Over here if you are not 18 aswell then involvment of your parents may be more than likely.

Wiping out most the above and seeing it as you have had chest surgery/ T/ Legal Name Change etc. etc. etc.

Then you are still going to have to wait a period of time for funding (if that is accesible), waiting for funding to be approved, and then each stage to be complete.

Its a complete pain in the *rse. But if we could change it i am sure we all would lol

Sorry to dampen your bonfire and all. And if any other members on this board feel my info is incorrect please feel free to state otherwise and give me a better insight!! It is something I am still doing a lot of reading up on myself.

mangoslayer, I hope you can find a surgeon for a hyster before your insurance runs out.  I don't have insurance or a reason to request a hyster at this time so I will have to wait for surgery.
