It has always been said that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". While that is true to some extent, scientist are constantly finding evidence that "beauty" is more than skin deep and that many biological processes come into play with what we consider "beautiful" in people.

Humans are programmed to instinctively shy away from other humans that look diseased. Most of human history has not had the benefit of medical tests so the human instinct was served well to avoid sickly looking people and to certainly not be intimate with those that look sick or carry genetic defects.

In nature, sperm is cheap and eggs are expensive which easily explains why women are generally much more selective in who they are intimate with. Some would say that the only differences in the sexuality of men are women are caused by a "social construct" but biology is a far stronger influence on people than any society could ever hope to be.

So, are you beautiful? This tool measures the ratios of the face to give an objective measurement on RATIOS ONLY. There are OBVIOUSLY other things that go into the beauty equation (positive and negative) but this is an interesting.  Think your nose is too big or eyes too narrow? This will give you a statistical answer for a male OR female face.

Post your pic with the results if you want. I probably will in the next few days.

According to this, I am not. I am only a 6.42 (pre-hrt).

I have read a few places, and seen a few documentaries that said that beauty can be explained by the golden ration or phi. This is not just for human beauty, but for everything.  It is kind of interesting, to me, to look at how it applies to so many things in nature.

I am not saying it is 100% true, just something I have heard/read.

This is interesting. Before trying my own pic, I loaded a few celebs to test it.

Jennifer Aniston (one of my fav fashion role models) rated only 6.59. While her nose length and face width is "nearly ideal", her nose is too narrow and mouth is too wide.

Stunningly gorgeous andro model Andej Pejic rated 7.91. His "innerocular distance" is too big for his eyes. His nose is too wide for his face. His face is too long and his mouth is too wide.

Actress Nicole Kidman rated 7.09. Her face has "great horizonal symmetry". Her ears are too long. Her innerocular distance is nearly ideal. Her nose is too narrow. her face length is ideal and her mouth is too wide.

Legendary supermodel Claudia Schiffer rated 8.36. Her face has "good" symmetry. Her innerocular distance is nearly ideal. her face is too wide. Her face length is nearly ideal and her mouth is too wide.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow rates 8.39, with good horizontal symmetry, long ears, wide innerocular distance, wide nose, but nearly ideal face length and mouth width.

Actress Anne Hathaway rated 7.1, with poor horizonal symmetry, long ears, a wide nose and mouth (as if we didn't already know that). However her innocular distance and face length are nearly ideal.

so, I don't feel so bad about rating 7.27 with my own face. I didn't have any "nearly ideal" features, but I guess nothing was too extremely off. Like Anne, my horizonal symmetry is poor. Like Claudia, my ears are too long. Like Gwyneth, my innerocular distance is too big for my eyes. Unlike any of these celebs, my nose is too narrow and my face is too long. Like most of them my mouth is too wide.

I've heard that outgoing people tend to have wide mouths, which would account for the celebs and I. This was fun. Don't forget that the right makeup application can counter most any of these traits, though.

Meanwhile, Gwyneth, Claudia, Andrej and I are giving the snooty nose up to Jen, Nicole and Anne.  ;D

Science should keeps its nose out of deciding what is beauty.

Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder.  Each of us see beauty differently, even different cultures see beauty differently.

I seldom agree with movie critics when they review movies, I tend to look for entirely different things in my entertainment.  The same would go for what I see as beauty, "science" has no idea what I value in a persons looks.

So, to me its not in the "numbers".

Wow! 8.72 out of 10. But I was so ugly in the picture.  ???

Put more beautiful one and it gave 7.something. I think it is all related to your face's shape. It said my face is narrow. And my ears are too long for my nose. Shut up I love my Elf ears!  ;D
It's not easy having a good time, even smiling makes my face ache!  :icon_ashamed:

Silly thing gave me a 9.22, so I know something has got to be wrong with it.
