Hair loss after hysto

If I am not mistaken, Testosterone converts to DHT to counteract estrogen. DHT is what leads to hair loss. Then it would go to reason that after a complete hysto a transman would have much less of a chance of losing his hair than before. Any thoughts?

I wasn't under the impression that T "consciously" converts to DHT just to battle estrogen...and it seems to me that if you do still have estrogen running around in your system before hysto, your changes will come even faster afterward.

I was just reading really old posts (years old) on this site and came across someone who was drawing a parallel between trans and cis men's hair loss due to DHT. They were saying that DHT is higher in transguys due to hormones pre hysto and transmen who take T for years and don't have a hysto have a greater occurrence of losing their hair.

As far as changes after hysto I would think that taking T after one was performed would speed up the process but not so sure about the hair loss aspect. I do know that I am soon to be void of all hormones for a few days after mine and then starting T while still in the Hospital. My doctor has said I won't need as much as someone without a hysto to get the same effects so it'll also be easier on my system...but I'm curious about the hair thing.

As far as a cis male T level, I wonder how many mg they naturally produce? (I'm looking into it on google right now)

I'm also curious about lower growth without much DHT because I have read some guys use DHT cream to make their genitals grow.

Has anyone else had a hysto before starting HRT?

I didn't have hysto, but I did go through early menopause before starting HRT. Not quite the same thing.

wheat thins are delicious

I'm pretty sure it's just genetic.  I know a few guys who were on T for years and years, some 10+ before a hysto and they still have a full head of hair.

Well, the way I understand it, the T has to duke it out with the E. Until your body stops producing E, you might not get the full effects of T. So if you're fertile and the T hasn't completely shut down your internal organs, there might be a delay in hair loss. I'm no expert, of course...
