I'm sure a thread like this exists somewhere. Anyone that's had hysto, I'd like to hear:

1) What type you had (full/partial, abdominal/other way)
2) How long were you in the hospital for
3) How long did it take you to recover
4) Had you experienced any complications or have any problems since having the surgery
5) If you had full, do you have to take supplemental E at all

thanks

Ok, so bare in mind I DID have my hysto as part of lower surgery. So it was a much heavier surgery than normal.
1) What type you had (full/partial, abdominal/other way)
      Full, abdominal

2) How long were you in the hospital for
6 days (lower surgery takes its toll on the body)

3) How long did it take you to recover
2 weeks ish. I was walking around fine by this point. However, due to my large incision, I couldnt straigthen my body for 3weeks/a month.

4) Had you experienced any complications or have any problems since having the surgery?
Thankfully none. The only complications I had was the edges of the incision, which was on each hip, split and took 2 and a half months to fully close. But this surgery doesnt usually leave such a large scar if it is soley a hysto surgery.

5) If you had full, do you have to take supplemental E at all
Nope. On Nebido and thats all.

1) What type you had (full/partial, abdominal/other way)
Laparoscopic assisted vaginal full hysto with cervix removal.

2) How long were you in the hospital for
Four nights

3) How long did it take you to recover
I stopped taking painkillers after about 12 days but I would say still recovering a little at the 10 week mark today. If I do too much, I still get a little sore. Surgery is something I still have to be aware of in my job, especially with receiving and unpacking large deliveries.

4) Had you experienced any complications or have any problems since having the surgery
I had an haematoma just above where the top of the vagina was closed up. I had to go to A&E when the haematoma broke through as I was losing a lot of blood. Then I had to go back to see the surgeon, have a full examination, blood tests and an external and internal ultrasound to check everything. Unfortunately the haematoma meant I bled for just over six weeks.

5) If you had full, do you have to take supplemental E at all
No

The supplemental E that bio women take after hysto has to do with two things: crazy hot flashes and so forth side effects and possible bone loss. Neither of these are on issue on T.

Hi!

1) What type you had (full/partial, abdominal/other way)
Total laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with bilateral salphingo-oophorectomy

2) How long were you in the hospital for
From 7AM to 7AM the next day.

3) How long did it take you to recover
Week one: hard to even walk around, mostly slept.
Month one: couldn't lift more than 10 pounds, tired all the time, some soreness still, and a bit harder to get a round.
2 Months: almost completely back to normal, back to having (careful) front hole sex
4 months: completely back to normal. No residue tiredness from anesthetic.

4) Had you experienced any complications or have any problems since having the surgery
I got my ovaries removed, so I am experiencing some vaginal atrophy/dryness but it's not so bad. No complications. Very easy recovery here.

5) If you had full, do you have to take supplemental E at all
Nope. I would only need to take E if I was not on T, or I guess I could take some E cream to fight vaginal dryness if it really got to be a problem.

Send me a message if you want more info, it been over a year and a few months since I had it done.
