Micron obeys vote to add gay protections

Micron Technology, Inc. decided Tuesday to amend its company policy so that employees can no longer be fired on the basis of their sexual orientation.

As the Advocate reported last week, the Boise, Idaho, company's board of directors had previously ignored an unprecedented 55 percent shareholder vote to add sexual orientation and gender identity to its nondiscrimination policies.
