It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Welcome, Charlie!

I admire your courage. You started HRT so much earlier than when I even came out as trans. I wish I had the courage or independence to get going. :(

Hi Charlie, welcome from Boston! We always have room for new friends here at Susan's! See you around the site, hugs, Devlyn
@Myron, perhaps a kick in the pants would get you going?

I wasn't brave. I 'acquired' hormones and just sat inside playing games and took them until I couldn't pass for a guy anymore. Patient perhaps :)

You look quite young. Have you explained to your parents?

I do look young, but I'm not as young as I appear. I'm actually 23. I think transmen just look young, from what I've seen, and considering I looked young as female (I look about 18, when I present as female)...well....

Yes, I've tried to explain to my parents, but I haven't had much success yet. My mother insists I'm a girl for stereotypical reasons, such as liking Cher and Cyndi Lauper. She also has denied me gender therapy, or any sort of therapy other than with my current therapist, who doesn't really help me, and is very old-fashioned. (I'm not yet self-sufficient.)
