I've been stuck in a 6+ month hell trying to get health insurance. I was told I qualified for MNCare (I live in Minnesota), then was told I made $200 too much a year, then told again I qualified, then sent papers saying I was denied. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get MNCare on the phone anymore, so I signed up for another program in the state, which you pay a set amount a month, and the state helps with the rest.
I only have three options for which insurance company I can go through, and they are, Blue Cross, Medica, and Health Partners. My clinic accepts all three of these, but I'm completely clueless as to which would be the best for me. I only go in for blood word, hormone treatment, and basic check ups, but I want to make sure I choose the best one.
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about any of these providers, and wondering what your experience is....Thanks!

I've had Medica and currently are on Health Partners. Mental Health wise, there are more providers who accept Medica. Health and vision are a little better with Health Partners although if I had a choice, I would go back to Medica. Park Nicolette should accept all 3.

A curious side note is that my insurance plan (medical assistance) doesn't exclude reassignment surgery in the members benefit manual, but is only excluded by lack of funding at the state level (I have an idea how to change it, need a lawyer).

I go to Park Nicollet. Do you know if all three cover regular check ups (blood work) and such?

I know up until a few years ago, the state covered surgeries. I can't remember which governor changed it.

Both Medica and Health Partners cover labs and so far no trouble with covering the visits. It was Pawlenty who signed away reassignment surgery coverage for Medicaid in 2005.

Blue Cross covers my visits and HRT with Park Nicollet. I heard Medica covers m2f GRS. I like blue cross because I hate going to clinics like Health Partners.
