Anyone have experience with this? I read somewhere it's only 1 shot every 12 weeks? Only 4-5 injections a year? That wouldn't be too bad as long as it's not more painful then the weekly/bi weekly injections.

I'm on it. Yep, once every 12 weeks. I pick it up and take it to my doctor's office where a nurse jabs me. She takes her sweet time injecting all of it, and I hardly feel a thing afterwards.

Went and got me a ticker, so everytime I post I'm reminded to put down whatever I was about to eat. >.>

Been on nebido and my favorite up to date, heard alot of other transguys who also prefern it, even when it sure diffrent from each person.

It dose hurt slightly abit more than testroviron but then on the other hand you get the injection less, then testroviron.

Are you in the US, Dominic?  I didn't think that Nebido was available there yet.

Ive been on it awhile, maybe 2 and a half years...?
But yeah, the convenience of it only being every 12 weeks is the biggest positive for me. :)

That's what I'm on, the first two were 6 weeks apart but they will be every 12 weeks now, the much less frequent injections are a definite bonus. If the nurse goes slowly and you warm it up in your hands first it doesn't hurt any more than any other injection.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I'm in the US. Oh, I didn't know Nebido wasn't available in the US. Will it eventually be available in the US? Or do you know when it's supposed to be coming to the US?

I don't think Nebido specifically is available in the US yet, but you might be able to get some other form of testosterone undecanoate (at least, I think that's what it's called!). Nebido's just a brand. Try asking your doctor. Or, just ask about slow-release testosterone.

At any rate I actually began my transition on Nebido, it's been great. I don't find the injections any more painful as such — standard pin prick. The only difference is that it has to be injected slowly (bout 45 seconds-ish) so I find it does start to ache a bit once the needle's been in for a while, and I often ache for a couple of days after, but it's no huge deal. Again, the convenience of only one shot every 12 weeks outweighs everything else.

Thanks. How's the acne with Nebido?

My nurse uses several minutes when she gives me my shot. I guess the definition of "slowly" varies. XD After the shot, the injection site feels like I've bumped into a table or something, no biggie.

If I remember correctly, I did get more acne for a while when I switched from gel to Nebido, but it calmed down after a couple of months. Small flare ups around the time I get my shot (but not the last couple of times).

I've got a bit here and there but it's nothing near what I was expecting. Mostly just a bit red, but no serious full-on spots (pimples/zits) Generally my skin's pretty clear (but I also eat really well so that might have something to do with it). I do occasionally get flare-ups, but that tends to be linked to stress more than anything. I actually keep it under control using toothpaste every couple of days. Sounds mad, but it seems to work! :)

Thanks for the info on that guys.

I've never heard of guys in the US being on this form of testosterone. Seems like if it was an option here that more guys would go this route but who knows. For those of you on Nebido, how does it compare in cost to weekly injections? I'm hoping to get on this eventually.

Here in Oz it's like $140 per shot..I've no idea how much weekly shots are.

I was covered by the NHS in my old area and I'm currently awaiting funding approval in my new area but there's a chance I'll have to cover it myself so I had a look around private pharmacys.

not including needles or the actual prescription writing...or the nurse visit that nebido requires...

Sustanon is around £35 a month and nebido is around £100. Considering you only have to get nebido once every three months it actually works out a little cheaper. Depending of course on how much the nurse would charge to administer the shot because you can't do it at home.
