The fully packed house, mostly 20-somethings, did not care. They stood and cheered louder even than the amplified music by The Max Weinberg 7. The lighted applause signs were unnecessary. The producers got plenty of footage of crowd reactions. Monday, he presented Carvey, along with the Brit indie smash group Arctic Monkeys. In honor of The City, he introduced the Transgender TransAmerica Pyramid in a costume very reminiscent of Steve Silver's conceptions of Beach Blanket Babylon.
