Southern Comfort Conference, Sept. 10-16, 2007, is already on the calendar but I wanted to add some information about it.
SCC, along with HRC, is hosting the First Annual Career Expo. The following is a quote from SCC's website.

As you may be aware, rampant unemployment and under-employment are significant burdens
shouldered by transgender employees. Equally, concerns abound about the prospect of
transitioning at work and / or finding an employer who will accept their transition during or after
the fact are also relevant.
The Transgender Career Expo is an open event free to anyone who self identifies as transgender
and wants to engage with proactive companies where recruiting people based upon talent,
experience, skills and abilities is the primary focus.
We are in the process of contacting proactive companies whose approach to equality and
diversity in the workplace extends to transgender employees.
This event will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, September 14, 2007 in conjunction
with the Southern Comfort Conference.
I am employed by Turner Broadcasting Systems, and work at CNN. Turner has signed on, and paid $, to be a corporate sponsor of this years Southern Comfort Conference and the Career Expo. I am also a member of 'TurnOut', Turner's GLBT "business resource group".
I was hired here in 1999, transitioned in 2002, and had genital reconstruction surgery in 2004. Turner is definitely a place to consider when thinking about employment.
I hope to see you at the Career Expo and SCC.
