In a word... NO, just don't associate with them anymore and move on with your life
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I it is never okay to out anyone regardless of what they've done to you.  It can completely shatter a person's life and land them out on the streets.  And it's just rude to do.

The only time it is okay to out someone is if you are talking to doctors, emts, etc and the transperson in question is unconscious.

In other words if you aren't saving someones life, it is probably not right.

You're probably frustrated right now because you feel as if she has done you wrong. That is a completely valid emotion to have. However, it doesn't give you the Right to turn someone's life upside down or put their safety in jeopardy.

Being transgender isn't a game and you could very well cause her to be physically harmed and yes that would be your fault if you outed her and that occurred.

What should you do then? Be an adult and talk to her about what happened instead of looking for petty retribution.

No, it's not the right thing to do. Whatever she did has nothing to do with her being trans anymore than race has to do with someone's actions. She's a person who wronged you. Be the bigger person.

So let me understand this...you can't use irc--internet chat--because of this person...so you think ruining their life is a good idea?

What are you, 12?

eta: I've decided to just move on out of this thread. I don't come here to Susan's to interact with rage--either my own, or some random nitwit who can't even spell or use proper grammar.

Have a good day, all.

Enough, tone your comments down Rage.  This is not acceptable behavior here.

I understand that you're angry.

You need to understand that outing someone can lead to LETHAL consequences. It's not just a game of tit-for-tat, someone could actually DIE from your words.

And you say you used to be friends? A friend would never betray this highest secret, no matter what the reason. A TRUE friend would keep that secret, even to his/her grave, NO MATTER WHAT the other person might have done.

I don't know...sometimes words fail me. Silence is the better way at that time.

Gwen Araujo "wronged" someone once. She was outed and it led to her murder.

Don't be that guy.

Ok, I'm going to ask the question nobody else has. Not that it would make it ok for you to do that to her no matter what she did...but out of curiosity, what did she do to you?
