Spooks and shivers

How many of yall believe in spooks? I certenly do now!

Why? Well, in the hospitol there is a tunnel that leads under a parking lot into a building. The tunnel is about a 1/4 of a mile long. and straight, with a slight inclination to allow and moisture to flow into a drain in the middle. but the important thing is you can see both ends no matter where in the tunnel you are.

Anyways, I was going through to take care of somepaper work in the seperate building, had to get my shots updated. I get past the halfway point when I look up and see a shipmate coming towards me. I nod my head and he does the same, and we pass. For whatever reason, I look back, and he is GONE!

There was NO way he could have gotten to the other side that quick, I would have heard running. There also was not enough time for him to just walk it. So I guess I had my first encounter with the supernatural.

Anyway, lots of shivers from this one, how appropriate considering the month!

I believe in things that are not easily explained by science.  I've seen doors in my house slam shut when no one was around to do such.  And like many people, I suspected a sudden breeze from an open window.  No open windows!  I've seen shapes in rooms, heard voices in recordings (EVP) and all that fun stuff that makes one pull the covers a little tighter at night.  We're in the season where the borders between worlds is a little thinner.

Oh I definitely believe in spooks.  In all of the times I have moved in my life I've either had the feeling of someone watching me when I'm alone or someone/something staring at me when I am trying to sleep.  But no one, not even my girlfriend would be around when I get this feeling.  I'll be sleeping and then suddenly I'll get this odd feeling in the back of my mind telling me 'there's something right on top of me staring down at me.'  But I open my eyes and nothing    So yeah, I do believe for sure.

I have always been a skeptic.  That is, until my father passed away.
From half way across the country, I heard his spirit call out to me the moment he died.

A few months later, I had a ... vision of him sitting with my grandfather in a Paris cafe.  (My grandfather was a WW1 'Doughboy' and this was the same cafe I saw him in after he had died.)  It was not a dream - this was an image of what is on the other side.

Seven years(!) ago, I was sitting in an Irish gin-mill in Savannah, Georgia.  Suddenly, I was surrounded by the ghosts of my family, including my father and step-mom.  They all raised a glass to toast me - not for the presentation I had just made.  Rather to let me know that they were with me because something important was about to happen.  The feeling of ... family was overwhelming and I was doing my best to not burst out in tears.  I knew then that I could face whatever challenge lay before me.

The challenge came a week later as I lay on a gurney being rushed to the hospital with a possible heart attack.

I am still skeptical.  However, I also know that there are always possibilities...

I belive in ghost. I saw my dead dog, hooch when he died. I was in the bathroom and I smelt him.(he had a very...unique smell.) So I look at the door and I saw his head and his body was faint. Kinda freaked me out...but I was happy to see him one last time. =/ Of course the family and I will smell him on occasions around the house..maybe like a visit from him or something..but not for a while.
