Hi all,

So, I started laser on my face yesterday. Quite the experience, and I don't recommend it for anyone who isn't committed. Luckily, my skin was only red and swollen for about 20 minutes after. It's still a bit sensitive, but otherwise it's okay. Anyway, y'know that awful smell of burnt hair? I can still faintly smell it. Will that go away when I shave, or will I have to wait for the hair to fall out? How long did it take for your hair to fall out after your first treatment, or did it come out at all?

Thanks!

The burnt hair smell left the first time I washed. As for falling out, typically, for me, one week after my treatment the hair starts to fall off. It is wonderful when it happens.  ;D

As soon as you wash your face with soap. There is a little bit of debate as to how soon you can shave after the treatment but I shaved two days later without an issue. I had my second treatment last week and I just love the results so far!   How was the upper lip area for you? I generally have a high pain tolerance but I had tears in my eyes from that part. The rest of it wasn't too bad.

Thanks, Brooke & Jessica! I washed this morning and I could still smell it a bit, but it seems to be fading. I'm still itchy and a bit sensitive, so I'll probably wait until Sunday to shave.

I generally found every spot hurt equally, except under my chin which wasn't quite so bad. I found it about as painful as a tattoo over a boney area, but thankfully it was over quickly. The smell was definitely the worst part of it.

I had the burnt smell stick around for a day or so.  I didn't notice the follicles fall out, though about two weeks from my first time I noticed new bare patches.

I did two days and shave too.  Hurt pretty bad and I couldn't get a close shave.  It's one reason why I'm waiting a bit after my next laser appointment before I go full time next month.
