I had my first eye test in 30 years yesterday and they decided that my vision is 'perfect' except for a very slight touch of astigmatism in my right eye. They also said that for reading I should consider a pair of the lowest prescription reading glasses and that I could have them free of charge.

So... picking out a frame for the glasses. I put a pair on and looked in the mirror - to see my mother looking back at me.

:o

I am still trying to decide if that is good or bad.

I had a similar experience. It was very helpful. I went to my hairdresser had a new style and colour and got contact lenses.

I do not actually need the glasses for reading unless the print is terribly small - like 4pt, but I am getting to the age were my eyes do tire more quickly so I thought it prudent to get the test done. I do not think they make contacts as weak as I would need them.

Anyway, if I do use them it will be reading in bed at night so no one will ever see them anyway. It was just a shock to transition into being Mum Mk II...

I am no fan of my mother or father.....but I find more and more my mannerisms are just like my mothers. Scary on one end, but sort of validating on the other. I even sort of sound like her now.

Me and my brother has my dad's face.  My nieces call me dad without a beard.  I did not believe them looking into a mirror, but a photo taken on my birthday a month ago have me looking like my dad and a close twin of my brother.  A photo is usually an unreversed image as the mirror is a reversed image.  I may have the face of my dad the cad, but inside, I've become my mother!

Amazingly I look like my Mother.  I say amazingly because I was adopted.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

I see a lot of my dad & uncle in my 'female' face, no bad thing, they're both handsome. Transitioning would have the attractive benefit of not looking like my mother.
