Does you counselor have to write a note to a doc for hormones? I thought I had read that you had to get a note, or is that just for srs? I'm in SW Missouri if it makes a difference. Thanks!

I'm in San Francisco, California with Kaiser. When I consulted the doctor, she had me get clearance from the psych department first to make sure they have on record that the patient is of sound-mind, fully aware of changes, and moving in the right direction.  I can't answer for your location, but I think it might be a norm.
"Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand up taller than you ever were before.  Sometimes your eyes need to be washed by your tears so you can see the possibilities in front of you with a clearer vision again. Don't settle."

Ok, that's what I was thinking. My psychologist wasn't quite sure on the process as she said all of her past trans patients never asked for any notes or anything. I need to find a new doc too, considering I work with my current doc's daughter-in-law at a middle school. I don't want any drama at work lol. Not that he would say anything but he was white as a ghost when I talked to him about my GID and quickly ended the visit and left the room lol. Thanks for the response Deven!
