I'm trying to foresee any trouble I might have with my hearing in January.

I granted my ex an uncontested divorce. The case declares neither of us are entitled to any spousal support and that the court does not have the authority to order any such support.

Still, I wonder if it would be necessary to have my ex sign an affidavit or something saying she doesn't object to the name change.

Or am I making a mountain of a molehill?

Personally, yes you are.  Plus it is the court system, that will be tied together under your old name.  And being divorce, she does not have to give you any kind of permission.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Okay, that's what I was hoping.

I keep hearing horror stories of judges denying name/gender changes so I want to be sure I've got all I need.

I guess what I need the most is to relax.
