No, I don't know of any ftm actors, I guess reality TV has been closest so far, there might be some foreign ones I don't know about. In theater, gender doesn't seem to matter as much (Though I guess it depends on several factors such as if it's a touring group or if there's kissing scenes, etc. It might have also had something to do with lack of female characters, I'm not sure). One group toured my school every year. There were tons of women doing male roles, it could have been the majority. As most had multiple roles, most women had male and female roles, one woman had only male roles. I don't remember many men with female roles besides one who was a witch in Hamlet, lolz, I assume less are willing to.

Yeah everyone says they want to do stage (and indeed, stage is, I think, the best form of acting - it's at least complete and not segmented) until they see the relatively poor wages and low number of actual roles, vs. the amount of money in film, TV, commercial work and the huge amount of work in those areas. 

But I don't think any of those 'visual' types of arts care as much about who you are as what you look and act like.  It never mattered that good actors could do well outside of themselves - ie playing 'gay' or trans - so it never mattered that the actors ever matched the roles.  So lots of classic gay men did these macho chick-melting movies, while some of the straight guys did real well in gay roles.  The only thing that ever mattered was if it looked right and felt right on the stage/screen.  Since absolutely no part of it is real, it's never really mattered if the actor matched the role in reality - it just has to look 'right'.

I wouldn't say that I want to make acting my career. I definitely want to get back into it, but I do want to do it on the side. I've obviously never done anything on screen, though it might be fun to try it every now and then, who knows.
