Is Evadiol effective?

Hey everyone!

I just recently started transitioning from biological male to female. I'm taking Spironolactone (Aldactone) daily in divided doses;  in the morning and in the evening. And Estradiol Valerate (Evadiol) daily in divided doses;  in the morning and in the evening. After taking Spironolactone for 2 weeks I started to have severe allergic reaction to it and I started to take it with Benadryl. Allergic reactions stopped right away, but I'm concerned whether there's interactions between Spironolactone (Aldactone) and Benadryl or Estardiol Valerate (Evadiol) and Benadryl. Does anyone knows whether there's interactions between these medications? Thank you very very much in advance for your answers...

How do you know it the aldactone and not the other? And what is the reaction? I also don't believe long term use of benadryl is a good idea anyway. I can relate to odd reactions to meds so might be able to help

First I discontinued both Spironolactone and Estradiol Valerate and took Benadryl till allergy was gone. Then I stopped Benadryl and took just Estradiol Valerate for a week and I didn't have allergic reaction. Then I stopped it and took Spironolactone and next day I had rushes all over my body again. I also checked more information on Spironolactone side effects and some transgender women and genetic women were reporting that they had same allergic reaction to it as I had. It happens because Spironolactone dehydrates your body. I take only one capsule of Benadryl daily and only at night before going to sleep. I suffer from nightmares and it also helps me to sleep well. My only worries is that the Benadryl might be reducing Estradiol Valerate's potency...

Have you talked to your doctor? "rushes" or hives are not caused by dehydration but from an allergic reaction. Your body is trying to warn you not to take them. Covering this reaction up with another med doesn't sound like a good idea and I would be looking for another form of AA, even (I assume you are in the US) you have to get it mail ordered. As long as your doctor knows what you are taking, most seem fairly flexible especially if you have bad side effects.

Yeah... I know... It's better see the doctor, but I don't have health insurance now and lost my job. Besides new job I applied denied me my application because of my gender identity. But I noticed that Benadryl reduces the potency of Estradiol Valerate and I think I'm stopping to take Benadryl. But I have to find the alternate for Spironolactone and guess will be continuing my transition only with Estradiol Valerate increasing the dosages...
