Thank you!

Spokane? heck yes! truly is a small world. I lived there for the majority of my life then moved to phoenix in 06'.... What side of town were you on?

No :( The lady at the Social Security office said that I had to have surgery to get the gender marker changed. Which will happen just gotta be patient shooting for summer of 14' for SRS.

I didn't know they wrote things backwards in Arizona.... :P

I used to live in Spokane, until 1999...Loved Taco John's, Senor Froggy, Ron's (in the Valley--and I knew it before it was "Spokane Valley" LOL)...let's see...oh yeah, the Army Surplus store on Div and...I forget, North Foothills Dr now?

And the White Elephant!!

I noticed they tore down the Mission from its old place downtown, welcoming everyone to Spokane...

Awesome memories!

:)

I went to Ferris High School, Sacajawea Middle School and Westview Elementry. I grew up on the southside mostly at Morning Star Boys Ranch.

Yeah I loved senior froggy's they had all you can eat there at one time. Good Ameri-mex food.

One place i ate at was Dickey's , when I was thinner I ate like 10 whammy's and a milkshake and a soda for my dinner lol.

I was there when they tore the mission and made a new one,  in fact i was at the UGM a few times when things got rough.

**So I'm guessing Arizona requires srs for Drivers License sex marker changes eh? What other states are like that?

I know that you have to have srs to change your social security card now, and birth certificate sex markers. I was just posting in the legal matters section. Why does the social security admin have anything to do with DL's in your state though? Some states all you need is a letter.

***edit*** ah well I just saw susans wiki and it said :

QuoteArizona:
To change the gender marker, requires a letter from a doctor stating that the applicant is irrevocably committed to having GRS.
After a legal name change, you are required by law to notify MVD within 10 days. The MVD is required to verify your Social Security Number before your record can be updated, therefore you must first contact the Social Security Administration to change your name on their records. After you have changed your name with SSA, wait two days for their computer system to be updated. You should then visit an MVD office to present identification in both your new and previous names. This must be an original or certified copy (must be certified by the issuing agency) of one of the following: Marriage Certificate/License, Divorce Decree, Certificate of Citizenship/Naturalization or a court order. The fee for a duplicate license is $4.

To change the gender marker, requires a letter from a doctor stating that the applicant is irrevocably committed to having GRS.

Hmm that sounds like all you need is a letter "saying your going to get grs/srs" not that you have done it yet. Maybe worth looking into.

NO WAY! I went to sac too. I went to LC though! rubber chicken!!! GO TIGERS!!! My brother went to morning star too.

Thats great news. I just know what she told me at the SS office. I should of asked the judge at the time of my name change but had so many things going threw my mind it completely spaced me out. I wonder if a letter from my therapist counts? technically ge is a doctor right? or should I ask my endo both would be more then willing to help me out. I have to go back to the DMV next week to get my registration changed on my car. Thank you for investigating for me.  :)

Oh yes i remember the Rubber Chicken Games, I was on the TV Production Crew and filmed a few of them. Lewis and Clark, vs Ferris High School, thats like Seattle Seahawks Vs The Oakland Raiders in terms of rivalry.

Let's see Serena Lynn, your brother went to Morning Star eh? I probably knew him and , maybe in fact am friends with him. If you would like to tell me who in a private message or something that would be cool, because it is a small world.

You actually kind of look like someone I know, with the initials of A.W. , he was in my home movie we did in the mid 80s called "The Strickalator" which was about an evil football team vs a good one. I was the quarterback lol , of the good team and rode a pee-wee herman bike.

They almost named it "City of Chief Jospeh" for the Spokane Valley, so it was always called the "valley" for me anyways before the name change.

Gratz! And yes name change + female picture on ID is a big step. I was full time for almost a year before I got all that sorted out and it was not fun.

Awesome, Serena.  I know how exciting it can be.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Actually, I haven't had a reason to visit the Social Security office up to now...I avoid those government buildings like the plague!

I can tell just by eyeballing that license: it is fake, a clever ruse.  Should be obvious to anyone.

How do I know it's fake?  Simple: all driver's license photos have to be funny looking.  Your DL photo looks nice, therefore it must be fake. Case closed. 8)
