It's a long way off for me and I know a doctor can give me more specific info than most of you, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten top surgery but was not able to take pain killers? I've just wondered this for a while.
I've got an extreme sensitivity to Morphine and all of it's derivatives, so pretty much every prescription painkiller in the US. Just a small dose in the morning will make me vomit all day, and I imagine that's not a good thing to do recovering from surgery. Several years ago I was given a med, it was still a codeine derivative, but it was made for people with sensitivities and I still had a bad reaction to it. So if any of you had a similar issue, how did you deal with it? Did your doctor find you a different med, did you go without, or did you just suffer through it?
