I saw "Paranormal Activity" with the theatre ending finally and I screamed quite a bit--scared my dog.  It was pretty funny.  And The Crazies....goodness....it was boring.

I'm really hoping that "The Last Exorcism" is good.  Anyone heard anything about it?  It doesn't come out until a week from Friday I think.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.

Cradle of Fear is a ok movie, suppose to be scary but heh I don't see nothing in it that is scary then again I'm hard to scare lol. The only horror movie that ever gave me the willies was The Grudge, don't ask why cause idk why heh. The Exoricest movies idk they just don't cut it for me they bore me heh

I watched The Hills Run Red which was basically a Texas Chainsaw/ Friday the 13th clone. I gave it a 3 out of 5, only finding it entertaining because I haven't seen a slasher movie in a while. Nothing new however.

You may have already seen it by now...
But i went to see it last week and it was meh. Uses that annoying documentary-style camera handling. It's actually supposed to be a documentary so it makes sense that it's sort of first-person, but all the jerking makes me wanna puke. Like, seriously, shouldn't a professional cameraman who's being hired for this project know how to hold a camera still? or have a tripod? So that was annoying. And it took like an hour (might be an exaggeration but it felt like a long time) for anything 'scary' to happen - the first half of the movie is more like just showing what an "actual" exorcism is like (exposing it for b.s.) It isn't until later when there's some stuff that kind of pops out at you and weird events take place. Parts of it were more funny than anything else when they were supposed to be 'eerie' or whatever (there's a part with a cat that really shouldn't have made me laugh...) Didn't really get the 'horror movie' feel from it, wasn't totally worth seeing in the theater.

I love to get the pants scared off me and I love the Saw series.

i LOVE Saw (even though i've only seen one and it was like the fourth one or something :P) It's so cool watching the sick/ironic 'punishments' he imposes on his prisoners >D

Halloween (Michael Myers is awesome)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Freddy Krueger is the funniest character I've ever seen) The new on looks like it sucks.
Push it baby, push it baby, out of control, I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow. ;)

I had the exact same reaction.

when I was in high school I was terrified of scary movies, couldn't even watch them.  Now I have started watching them and they hardly scare me at all, sometimes I will be watching it and my body isn't even responding the way it should for a scary movie (eyes wide, heart beating fast)

kinda disappointing

of course the staple of that series has always been the "Rules" of horror movies. Guess they can expand that. unlike the saw and final destination series that uses chain of events and puzzles.

Scream 4. I fell asleep during it.... a take on social networking, cellphone apps, mentions the Saw movies. Opening scene was sorta strange. Save it for on video/dvd when you want to waste some time.

The scariest film for me is only a PG!! Arachnophobia, i'm so scared of spiders that when I see one moving it sends a violent shudder through me & make me feel sick.

I once had a large spider move across the curtains behind my pc, I picked up a cd case & whacked it (it's a miricle that I didn't smash the window), it was so big that its legs stuck out of the sides of the cd case!!
It stuck to the curtain after being squished & I had to knock on the door of the downstairs flat & ask the man to come up & get rid of its body before I could set foot in the room, I kid you not

It's hard for me to sit through scary movies. I just cringe at blood and want to bury my face in the nearest set of arms. Strangely I am absolutely fascinated by "real" footage of ghosts, poltergheists and other paranormal things. Scariest thing I did was play with a weegee board with my friends one night. Strange things occured that night :P Then we watched house on haunted hill (one of my faves) The remake was so delightful. I still have my copy I bought way back when it came out on dvd. :)

Oh and it's not really scary but it's a trip. Fantastic Planet. It is on youtube if people want to check it out.

I also enjoyed Leprachaun, childs play and evolver.

There is one movie I saw back in the 90s. It was some 80s movie where they were deep underwater and this parasite thing would attack to them and turn them into this grotesque thing. It was some kind of plague thing. Freaked me out because parasitic things, oh god they terrify me. >_< *hides* I think it was leviathan. Had to look it up but I am not sure.

I have a few more movies so far to mention since last year.

Recently watched
Evil Dead (2013)
I enjoyed this female main character version of Evil Dead, a reboot of the original. The camera flying through the woods still is one main hallmark of the franchise. Blood, gore, limbs removed, a tiny bit of humor compared to ED2 and AoD.

Pretty good
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer
Fun and adventerous, just a little bit of scare factor.

Mama
I liked this one about two young children's encounter with a supernatural witch like ghost, which helps the lost children survive after a auto accident. Pretty good story. A little CGI heavy. sorta dark and atmospheric.

V/H/S
A collection of stories (sorta like Creepshow) except reality first person camera POV based (Blair Witch, REC). I liked this collection. Sorta strange to follow, gore, it was good though it had familiar elements, many suprises for me.

The Possession
What catholicism is to the Exorcist, is what Orthodox Judaism is to The Possession. A similar film, different religion. Though not as scary as the Exorcist.

House at the End of the Street
If you like  Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games), watch this just to see her. Basically a Psycho like movie,

More of the same
Dark Skies
Sorta like the producers other films: Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and Sinister. Nothing new unless you just want to see a similar movie with different actors. I do like J. K. Simmons who I thought played the most memorable character of the movie.

Sinister
Like paranormal activity, insidious, and dark skies (all produced by same person). Ethan Hawk was ok, plays a writer. Had a little bit of The Ring feel also.

The Raven
Not really scary, more of a mystery. With Cusack as Poe, possible serial murderer, enacting his own stories.

The Collection
Sorta along the lines of Saw and Final Destination.....more of that type of stuff. More gore and puzzle than scare. Inconsistent film with a lot of holes.

Smiley
Sorta along the lines of Urban Legend, scream, candyman, nightmare on elm street....you will feel like you have seen this before. The only great cool thing about the movie was the mask itself.

Paranormal Activity 4
if you seen 1 to 3, here is another.

The Apparition
Take a pinch of asian horror (the Grudge, Ring), add a little Paranormal Activity. You end up with a movie mixture you have seen before.

Rewatched Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 (free Hulu) to compare to the remake. I like all 3, but it might be just me.

It may sound close minded of me, but I just can't bring myself to watch that Evil Dead remake.

I just can't do it.

I saw the Evil Dead remake a little while ago. It's not what I was expecting, to be honest. At times it feels more like a teen slasher movie than zombie related. And at other times more of a possession movie, like The Exorcist. It felt, to me, like it didn't quite know what it wanted to be, so it tried to be everything.

I enjoyed it, overall. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but it was a good watch.
