Noyemi K

Hi everyone! I like to be called Noyemi, and I am a 19 year old MTF. I start counseling for HRT and other treatments next week, and I'd like to come out of my shell a bit more and make some friends!

I've known about my issues since I was around 4 or 5 and I've been seriously depressed since puberty. It's actually grown to the point where I immediately came out to my parents a few months ago and recently the depression has gotten bad enough to warrant a hastened response from our medical providers.

Most of my friends don't know about it, and I'm sick of pretending! So, today I joined this forum so I can be myself and meet other people who are going through the exact same trouble as I am, and people who have lived through it, young and old.

Beyond that, I like computers. I write programs and simple games, and I like to make music and draw, too. Most of my interests are academic, but I can't seem to stay away from 70s and 80s pop culture either! So there's that.

So, hey there everyone! I hope I can be your friend.

Hi Noyemi, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9670 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Hey thanks for welcoming me, everyone! I'm so glad to be here and meet with so many people who pretty much have been going through the exact same thing with friends and family.

I feel very lucky this week.

Hi Noyemi,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Sounds like you have a plan. And as we know, those that fail to plan, plan to fail. You've got some keen interests going on there too. Writing programmes; music, drawing. What language do you write in?

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hey again, all! My appointment is today, and it feels great to check back in and get to know everyone a bit more ;)

To answer your question, Catherine: I use Ruby, C++, and Lua the most. I've fooled around with Python and Java, too (I really can't stand Java or Perl, even though Java is basically an industry standard and there is a contingent who will swear by Perl... it's just so clumsy).

My hat goes off to everyone past 30 who's transitioning or has been through it already. I can't imagine spending another five or ten years of my life without having gotten help.
