Netizens support transgender teacher in Binh Phuoc
VietNamNet Bridge - An online society entitled "Advocates for teacher Pham Le Quynh Tram" has been set up to appeal to supporters for Quynh Tram, as well as against the proposal to cancel the decision to recognize her female sex.

The Binh Phuoc authorities said that the acceptance of female sex determination for Ms. Pham Le Quynh Tram (formerly Pham Van Hiep with male sex) is unlawful.
Quynh Tram said: "I'm really surprised by this information. Although I do not receive the formal decision but Tram still feel sad."

The teacher has suffered many physical pains, mental decline in discrimination and experienced how many hardships in obtaining a paper that recognizes her true self. It is only a sheet of paper, but it is her life. She spent the first half of her life to get it. The local government would not see her tears when holding that sheet of paper. Why they deprive of the right to be her own. She is also human...!!! "

Binh Dinh wants to cancel recognition of transgender teacher

Nearly four years after the surgery to re-determine the gender and being recognized by the law, Quynh Tram said she is happy to be living in the shape of a woman.
Tram was born in HCM City. Her family moved to Binh Phuoc when she was small. Tram was born as an intersex but she was defined at birth as a boy. At puberty, her body changed as a woman. She studied very well but felt complex of being a bisexual, Tram did not have friends.
