It's a long shot and I called a few insurance companies interested in buying an individual plan that could cover trans* related stuff, but it seemed the company I got anywhere with said it was only covered if an employer had it as part of their plan. Has anyone in the US ever used an individual insurance plan to cover surgery? Are there any companies that offer plans for individuals to cover trans surgeries? I'm in NJ if that helps. Thanks.
