Hello all,
please forgive if this has been covered before. I am panicking.
I am 9 months in on my HRT ...Estradiol and Spiro.
I am experiencing sharp stabbing pain in my right calf muscle and throbbing pain in both left and right calves, followed by an itch, followed by nothing, followed by sharp stabbing pains again. They hurt!
I am not exerting myself or anything. I admit to being 30 lbs overweight. I am feeling this even now sitting at my PC.
What to do? Help!

Is the area tender to the touch?
If so call an Ambulance urgently. It may be nothing but it may be a DVT. A side effect of being on HRT. You need to be seen in a hospital. Please take this seriously if it is DVT you have formed blood clots in the lower legs ( a common place to develop them) if you have and they move you are in very serious danger of a stroke.

I'm not trying to frighten you.

Call an Ambulance ASAP and get to an ER.

Hi Cindy!
Thank you so very much for your quick response.
I just touched the area as you suggested. It is weird. The first time I lightly passed my finger over the area, a sharp pain...then I sort of rubbed my finger over the area and it didn't hurt.
There is a small bump the size of a small mosquito bite. This is where the pain is occuring.
If I feel the bump with pressure..let me see...ok it feels slightly hard like a moaquito bite.
I am in Toronto Canada and there are no Mosquitos in January so now I noticed a small red dot to the side of the bump...no pain there at all...just only in the one place.

I respect your advise to get an ambulance and what I would like to do is to arrange a doctors appointment asap as I think I can deal with it for a few days.

There are many days I miss a dose of my E but I always take 1 ASA pill per day, as prescribed by my doctor to assist in keeping my blood from clotting.
I also should mention that I don't drink enough water each day and eat too much.
I am frightened now because I seem to be mentally weak in eating less and drinking more and this is a lifetime commitment.
I will get to my doctor asap and if I expire before then I won't hold it against you...lol.
Please know that I am extremely grateful to you for your kind words.
I will update any progress.
I am going to walk around my apartment a bit to see how walking is affecting the calf.

I wouldn't move around too much if there is a possibility it's a DVT.  That may cause it to dislodge and cause a problem further up.

Go and get yourself checked immediately.

Trisha, please report back when you have been checked out by a Doctor.

DVTs are rare, but one of our very nicest members here just recently developed one.

I know about weight and vascular problems from personal experience.  Please seek medical advice as soon as possible.

My doctor said it bluntly, any semblence of a dull pain immediately go to the ER and tell them your on Estrogen.

Hi everyone. just a quick update.
The pain went away the next day and not a sign of it since. I will see my doctor asap though and will update you.
Thank you all so very much for your kind concern.
I will let you know what my doctor says when I see him.
hugs!

Best way to tell is if it works itself out during the day.

Blood clot pains only get worst~ not better
