Hi everybody, I am Svea (a derivation of my birth name). This is the second trans-related site that I have joined, (the first being LP), but I have always been aware of other communities. My first attempt to sign up didn't work. Anyway, I am currently "out" though my progress toward transitioning is a steady crawl. I am married to a wonderful person, twenty, and in college. We are not as financially secure as I would like to be, but we are alive and happy :) I grew up in a poor, rural family and so my upbringing was rather strict. I've never been comfortably "male" and in fact it caused quite a bit of distress. However, I am happy for how I was raised because I feel that it gives me the skills and outlook on life that I am going to need as I grow and transition-- not just from male to female, but as I transition to adulthood, to parenthood, and beyond. I tend to be rather reserved and cautious (or paranoid, rather), but some would attribute that to my passion of mathematics and programming. I am by no means an overly intelligent person, especially in these fields, and often I cannot grasp simple concepts, let alone those that are complicated. However, my illogical passion drives me to continue my pursuits.

Also, it is midnight, so my speech is rather impaired. This is how I think late at night ^

So random facts:
-I am taller than 99.9999 percent of human females.
-I am MtF, if that matters.
-I have been out since National Coming Out Day to my family and friends. I was not seeking support or acceptance from them, I only wished to inform them. However, I have lost no friends :)
-My activity level will vary drastically
-When I say "passion" I mean obsession. I am known to work 16 to 18 hours a day non-stop, rest for several hours and continue my work for weeks. It borders on being unhealthy.
-My gender fluctuates on an eleven to twelve week cycle from what I have been able to track (it fluctuates from feminine to a neutral gender)
-I want to learn as much as I possibly can across many subjects. I don't believe that I will have an afterlife, so I want to do as much as I can while I am alive.

Hi, Svea.  Welcome to Susan's.  I'm in southern California, where were are having a bit of a cold streak.  :(

I had to edit out the anti-bot questions.  Hope you don't mind.  Congratulations on your progress thus far.

If you consider yourself genderfluid, you may wish to visit the Androgyn Talk board.

Oh, I'm sorry for that D: It's pretty warm in the upper 40s at the moment here.

Thanks! And I don't mind. I typically don't have to worry much about spam filters, so I don't always think when I post things that bots can pick up and use.

Thanks for the links! I also have a question concerning languages. I know on some sites, the use of foreign languages is not allowed because moderators aren't necessarily able to translate. On other sites it is allowed though, and I saw that there were no rules referring to this. So my question is, is it okay to use other languages where it is relevant? My first post outside this topic was to say hello to somebody from France and they were also practicing their English. I thought that maybe some French would be helpful when explaining translations.

EDIT: Also, ouch at the temperature! I'm from the northeast, so 40 would be unusually warm this time of year. I think nature remembered this and is working on cooling down today >.>

Hi Svea, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9707 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

We are primarily an English speaking site.  We don't bar foreign languages, but we do prefer English.  I use Google translate to review other languages.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Hi Svea,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hi Svea, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm up near Boston. Susan's Place has a translator  built in, and it's been fire drill tested by the Staff! Generally, we stick to English, and 'Strine, of course! See you around, hugs, Devlyn
