Came out at work!

I came out at work today via email to my current employer (I'm freelance), and it went really well! The producer immediately sent a congratulatory email response and asked me to come into his office. He told me that they are a very accepting company and thanked me profusely for telling them. He said they appreciate my hard work and to them it doesn't matter what gender I am, they are just happy to have me on Then he almost immediately asked if I would like to go by a different name and if I had any special needs as far as bathrooms.

They are my main client, so this is a HUGE load of anxiety off of my shoulders. The one last area that I hadn't come out to (work) has now begun, and the nervousness about the rest of this complicated part of transition has already slipped away. I'm sleepin' well tonight!!

One of the coordinators walked out for lunch and gave me a big huge grin on her way out... Butterflies!

Thanks Brooke, hazel, Misato, Tristan, and Cindy!! Hazel, a big thanks for the comment about the new profile pic!! It was from this past Friday- my first time going out as my true self inside and out around friends! It's been a great past 4 days to say the least.

Just got back from celebrating with some roommates and a few other friends... Had some ramen & sake in koreatown and now warming up by the space heater in my PJ's

I also want to say right now how glad I am to be involved with these forums and to have the ability to share stuff here with you, having this inlet/outlet has been such a huge help through everything- a massive confidence booster and catalyst for a successful coming out in many ways. I am way stoked on my gender therapist, but these forums have been indispensable on a whole other level to me- even if I am just lurking around most of the time reading your beautifully insightful posts and learning from your experiences Especially Cindy, a huge thank you. There are so many great writers here. *internet hug!* <- I love hugs, so this will have to suffice.

You have given me strength when I need it most. I promise to return the favor and help people here however I can.

I really hope someday that I will have the opportunity to become friends with some folks here in real life. That would be a treat. Where the LA peeps at?

Well, it continues to get better...

Creative director / owner of the company caught me outside yesterday during a vapor break and asked me "how ya doin?"- also mind you I think he might be gay... Almost positive actually...

I said "good, really good. Things are kinda crazy, but ya know..."

His face lit up. "I reaaally wanna talk to you later, excited to talk to you about that"

I finished out the rest of the day waiting for a moment, and when it came at the end of the day I ichatted him, but he never got back even though I knew he was upstairs. I figured best to just give it time and went home

This morning I hopped on my computer and saw he had messaged me back, the message read:

"Hi there /
yes yes let's talk if not tonight then this week /
I am so happy you are here .. its just wonderful ... so let's talk when I am not distracted"

Then at around noon he was hanging around at the kitchen table and I went to get some tea. I forget how the convo started but he wants to go get drinks after work tomorrow and chit chat. I mean I knew this company would be fairly accepting because most of the staffers here are either female or gay- but he is really truly interested it seems. I am blown away. From the vibe I've been getting from him I may have found another person to add to the inner circle. Don't wanna get ahead of myself though

I think part of me might actually be kind of attracted to him- which is tooootally new to me... I mean I have made out with guys before but I think it was mostly friendly/emotional love. I have never had an attraction to men before. Wowwww
