Ok well I am not sure how bad this will be now, I had created an event so I could message one small phrase to people that were friends and family that I knew i could trust. I clicked on the send message option and it sent the message, but what facebook didnt tell me was that it opened up a group chat for everyone to see that was a friend, so now I was thinking I was having a private conversation with one friend, the entire chat gets sent to all those people who happened to be online at the time. So I think about 10 out of my 80 online facebook friends got the same text.

Anyways now the damage is done, I have no idea whats going to happen next. I was not planning on telling that many people all of that, I only wanted them to message me back.

"please message me back I have something very important i want to talk to you about" was all that I had intended on each person knowing about at this point anyways.

:embarrassed: I will just have to see how it goes now. I am fearful it will just be a domino effect.

well now it seems so far its not that bad, i have a had a few people, like teachers and old high school class mates say they totally support me, no one has sad anything real negative yet, so far it looks like 6 people know for sure and have said good things.

I will just keep an eye out and see how it goes.

I came out to my sister before all of this and this was a sister I have met in 2004 and we only have seen each other a few times.

She had nothing but love for me, did not care if i was her brother or sister.

I'm not big on Facebook, but if this is the chat function I'm thinking of, the subject header can be changed. Can't guarantee that will mean that people just checking in won't see the old one... FB is a bit of a mess right now... I've been on a chat there relating to Drawception and We Draw Comics sites, and found out last night there were some changes again in how it functions, supposedly motivated by controlling spam.

Best of luck with those who were not on you intended list... sounds like it's mostly going well. For those who are less open-minded, maybe they will just choose to say nothing (or just not understand what was said?)

probably not understand, I told an old clan mate(game obv) why my name changed and he scratched his head in wtf.

Tbh its not their fault though,   going through what we go through is not par for the average human experience and many will never understand it.

This mistake is the best kind, in a way you accidentally get it done and now the cats out of the bag hehe.

You can retract any statement on FB with one post: "Account hacked. That last post wasn't me". It's such a common response now to the out of character postings that you don't even have to say it anymore. People just assume it. I wouldn't worry about it. The people that will be supportive are, and those that wouldn't probably just think you got hacked.

Well some updates, some good has started to come out of all of this. I now have 2 more cousins that are talking with me about this. They said they would do some research and consider for a moment what to think.

One sad thing to report. I got a WTF message from a friend, they left my facebook friends.

Friends like that are not worth having anyway.  A friend is someone who is there for you no matter what ^^

I am growing less and less fond of facebook as time goes by. The other day I was using the iphone facebook app and was looking at "people that i might know" and as I scrolled the list i must have pushed on a person on the list and the app sent them a friend invitation. It should NEVER send that without verifying with me. I could not figure out a way to retract it either, so some random person is probably thinking "who the heck is this?" today.

And then there is all of the cruft like the incessant game invitations that come my way from friends. I use it less and less as times goes by for these reasons.
