Wallet
My Keys
A good hair Brush
Makeup just in case(I usually dont wear any)
Phone
Headphone amp
Headphones
alcohol pads
some cotton balls and solution for my fresh piercing
Whistle that lights up
Lotion

And for now thats it really, I often put my phone in my coat because its worth more than everything in my bag.  Will probably grow with stuff as I figure out which neccesities I need to carry.  All I know is that its extremely liberating having an excuse to carry my entire apartment on the go!

In boy mode I keep my wallet and keys in my pockets, because I need to make sure I get used to carrying a bag around otherwise I might loose it.  Considering how anal I am, I think that trial period will end sooner than I expect.

Sounds painful. I hate, hate having things in my pockets, and above all, hate not to be able to carry everything I might need. I don't think I've ever done that, carrying my stuff in my pocket. When I was younger, I would put it all in a pocket of my school bag and carry my school bag nearly everywhere. xD

Alot of girls do it to, but not with the pockets of the jeans I wear as a girl.

Regardless~ I am more worried about leaving my bag somewhere then anything else since I am just getting used to carrying one around with me everywhere as I am now hehe.

I'm thinking it should contain exactly what you need it to contain. I have a hard time with purses. I only use them because they're necessary since women's clothing either has pockets that are too small, or none at all. Mine personally just has keys, ID, money, phone, tissues, some makeup for touch-up reasons, pepper spray. Some people have more, others have a lot less. It just depends on what you need to have with you.

I'll be buying my first purse in the near future, and I was wondering what I should carry in it beyond my wallet and keys. This tread gave me ideas and this is what it'll probably contain.

Wallet
Keys
Phone
Spare phone charger ( I'll keep the main one home)
Hand sanitizer
Hair Brush
Mints/Gums
MP3 player (my phone is not smart)
Headphones
Tissues
Nail clipper (I'm a nail biter but only when they bother me, having one handy might help me kick the habit)
Small Mirror
Swiss Army knife
Pens (I have a tendency to lose them)
and post-its

Make up and feminine hygiene products will be added in the future when they'll become relevent. I'll probably buy an androgynous messenger bag at first and won't carry my wallet and keys in it. I need to learn to carry one and not forget it.

Ooh this is fun. I'll try to do it from memory. :p
Keys, wallet, cell phone, brush, assortment of hair bands, sunglasses, nail file, nail clippers, tweezers, pocket mirror, chapstick, lipstick, and gobs and gobs of goo.

I confess I am a goo hoarder (love this video):

I hate to use an already overused phrase, but there's an app for that. It's called flashlight. I know iPhone and Android have one, so I'm sure the rest do too.

Heather: You do know the whole point of a purse is that you don't have to leave the change lying in the bottom, and you can put it in the wallet, right? :p

peky: Lol, you beat me with all that. You even carry around weapons and, for some reason, a whistle. Though I can't help but find the tweezers x2, forceps and caffeine pills funny. xD

forceps (AKA kellys) are a must and would save your or somebody else life

It's so rare that I use cash. So there's not that much change anyway. But you are right I could keep it in a wallet.

I don't carry much in me carrierbag. Wallet with credit and ID card (Which got me proper name on it, just got it last week and showing it around like it's the picture of a newborn baby.), keys, glasses, me hormones (because I seem to go away on spontanius trips to the other side of the country frequently), and at times my notebook and  pen.

So not much, I feel I got so much room left in it that I'll never be able to fill it even if I tried.
