Oh, The Joys of Binding

Since we just recently had a rant on binding thread, me being a "let's think on the bright side" hippie thought we should have a happy binding thread. Binding can't be all that bad right?  ;D

My joy of binding is that I can wear a properly sized binder and not have to keep reaching down my shirt to pull up the strap, unlike with a regular bra who's strap always loosens up and slips off my shoulder. (which was incredibly annoying back in the days when I had to wear a tux to work and couldn't fix it without taking off my bow tie and unbottoning my collar)

I also don't have a tag or hook occassionally scratching my back, or an underwire occassionally poking me when I wear the bra I accidently threw in the washing machine.

Joe.

The joy of binding for me is simple: the feeling that I get when I look in the mirror with a flat chest and the smile that comes on my face when I do.

I like my binder because it squeezes in my stomach and my hips as well as my chest albeit it doesn't make me flat enough to pass unless I layer, but oh well. :3

OP, how long have you been binding for?

I like the idea of a positive thread, it's a nice change.

I don't bind often but I like how it improves my posture and my nipples never get cold drafts in the winter, haha.

I used to bind often years ago, but then stopped and now started up again in December.

Yes sure, I think you're gonna tell me I have't been binding long enough to feel the awful pain and horrors that everyone else goes through.  :P (I do understand how hot it can be in the summer, etc. but I just think there's a lot of depressing threads running about; and I am on a complete high right now  ;D )

Binding actually makes my back feel better, it's the only time I can cracking it. I don't bind that often though because washing them is a pain when you're not out to your parents, or have a drier/heating, and I don't really need to.

It's also harder to smoke in them, which I need to remember as I'm trying to give up but extremely frustrated because I now can't sleep because of it and have to be up in 5 hours. Come on Alex, just remember even the binder wants you to stop...

And here I thought the thread title was being sarcastic. :D

Anyway, since it's pretty damn cold in Finland during winter, wearing a binder keeps me a bit warmer (although when the temperature decreases enough it feels completely irrelevant whether or not I wear any clothing...). Then again, it's usually my legs that get cold faster but it still helps!

And of course, it gives me (somewhat) flat chest. Still got a bit of stuff going on up there but with a t-shirt and a hoodie on, the result is pretty good. :)
Not to mention it makes me feel a bit more comfortable at work since all my co-workers are cismen and I'm kinda being stealth there, hehe.

I'll second Tossu-sama's opinion; it's nice with an extra layer of clothes when it's cold out. However, I can't wear mine anymore because it hurts far too much, so I'm happy for my big black winter overcoat that hides all unwelcome curves and such.

Yeah, the extra layer that my binder gives is a big plus during Winter. :)
I've had a real binder only since December (have used other binding methods since early Summer), but I breathe easier with it and I have a better posture - less need to slouch to look flatter. My breathing is the real miracle for me. I wasn't able to breathe deeply for years and years because of all the anxiety that concentrated on my chest area, and now that the huge mental binder isn't there all the time, the real one feels like a gateway towards freedom. ::)
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough.

Heterosexual men stare at women's chests. All the time.

Heterosexual women look at other women's chests to scope out the competition.

Lesbians... well, you get the idea.

My binder takes that pressure off me. I don't have men assessing me according to a set of body parts I'd prefer not to have, and women generally ignore me now as they don't see me my D-cups as competition. Which is much, much better because I'm uncomfortable with other people treating me like a female.

Thanks, Binder! :)

If it weren't for the binder I probably would go out a lot less. I can't stand looking down as I walk and seeing these things staring me in the face. -_-

The only thing my binders do for me is make me comfortable enough to go out in public. They're just a necessary evil.

i just got a new white 997 from underworks in the mail, it was tough to get on, but i loved the way i looked in the mirror. more than i have recently anyways.

My binder is a joy to me because I like to feel like my chest is nice and strong, less susceptible to bonks and the like. I am always carrying heavy stuff, stacking wood and things like that, and it's so nice to just hold stuff up against your chest and not having to be "careful." It makes me feel stronger when working out or being really active. I am fairly small anyway, but with my tritop on, I feel tougher and ready to take on the world without those floppy stupid things in my way. My shirts hang better, too. And don't get me going about car safety belts going across my chest and putting my backpack on!!!!
