Transgendered rapper's mother speaks out about his murder

Five people are charged in the death of 22-year-old Evon Young. TODAY's TMJ4's Cody Holyoke spoke with Young's mother, who helped lead police to the suspects.
Evon young lived with a roommate in a northwest Milwaukee home. Police now say that roommate, and four other men, had a hand in killing Young on New Year's Day. Young's mother is beside herself with grief, and she wants justice.
"You're not supposed to bury your kids," said Annette Perry, Young's mom. "They're supposed to continue your legacy."
For the last 21 days, Perry worked tirelessly to find her child. Evon Young, a transgendered man, disappeared New Year's Day. His roommate told police young took off and never returned.

Investigators were searching for the victim's body Wednesday at an area landfill.
The missing rapper is identified in the criminal complaint as Ebony Young, a female. The victim had previously been identified as Evon Young, 22, also known as Yung LT, during the public plea for information about his whereabouts.
One of the defendants charged Wednesday told investigators he believed Young was a male, and other witnesses all referred to Young as a male. The charges, in two separate complaints, do not suggest in any way that Young's transgendered status played any role in the defendants' motivation for the attack.
