Joe.

I want to do something creative. Something that will let me release all these feelings I've built up. I'm not good at poetry so that's out of the question. Just wondering what other things are creative that will allow me to free up or express myself? What has worked for you?

I don't have a creative bone in my body (though some are convinced it's hidden)...I just write a lot. Even if it's just over and over again how I am feeling. sometimes getting it out on paper, even if it seems ugly and boring, helps.

One of the things I always say i will do but never get around to is taking a class on something random. Like a pottery or cooking class, just to occupy my time, maybe learn a new skill, meet some people.

I write.  Sometimes I act out what I'm writing or act out certain scenes from video games or movies.  Playing video games help me as well as dancing or doing punches and kicks like I do MMA.  Every blue moon I paint.  When there's a full moon out I like to view it and in a way, it helps me meditate.

Dabble about. See what you like to make. Do you like cooking? I work with stone making small carvings. There's something out there for you. Hugs, Devlyn

Thanks for all your ideas. I like to write, I just never know what to write if that makes sense. I'm a creative person, just stuck for starting points, though once I get going I'm well away. I'm not into cooking, I'm one of the fussiest people I know so that would be a no go area for me haha.

I draw. All the time. There are doodles on my school notes, my shopping lists, of course filling up sketchbooks. Any piece of paper sitting near me when I surf the web gets covered in doodles. It's creative therapy for me. I also do more professional drawings for display on deviantArt when I feel I have more time to devote to a piece. And best of all it's one of those creative outlets that anyone who can wield a pen, pencil, marker, crayon, stick of charcoal (the possibilities are as endless and variable as one's mood requires) can do.

primarily i'm a photographer so if I need to "create" to express something generally I'll photograph it.  When I started transition I decided to enter more into digital photo painting.  Somehow since there's really no "wrong" way to paint it let me be more expressive.  I just know that when I started HRT and even before I had all this pent up emotion that was screaming to get out in anyway.  So in order to allow myself to "feel' i  started photo-painting, then on HRT i switched it up to look more like straight up painting.  It may sound silly but you can yell at it, cry over it.. and when all is said and done all that emotion leaves you with something that tells a story. (not to mention it's cheaper than seeing my therapist)  ;)

I roleplay on Elysium, write, pretend I can draw, and paint. :3  I'm not particularly good, but it's a release and a lot of fun.  It's not like anyone else needs to see what I've been doing.

Thank you all for such good ideas. I've always been very particular about my art and painting, but maybe I just need to free up and express myself. Thank you all for your great comments as always.
